This is an educational opportunity designed for practitioners, parents, and individuals to deepen their understanding of orofacial development from birth through childhood. This program course explores how the growth and function of the mouth, jaw, tongue, and facial muscles influence critical processes such as breathing, speech, swallowing, sleep, and cognitive development. Participants will learn healthy normal development, how to recognize early signs of dysfunction, and understanding of the interconnected systems of oral and overall health.
This is a great course for parents concerned about their child’s development; adults with conditions related to breathing, speaking, swallowing; speech-language pathologist who want a new perspective that may improve treatment outcomes and reduce time in therapy for their patients; first contact practitioners such as lactation consults, nurses, pediatric medical providers.
A comprehensive virtual assessment of how the muscles of the mouth and face are functioning and how they influence breathing, chewing, swallowing, speech, and overall oral development and health. Conducted through a secure video platform, the evaluation allows us to assess oral muscle strength and coordination, tongue posture and mobility, lip function, swallowing patterns, speech patterns, breathing habits, and resting oral posture. We also discuss health history and daily habits that may influence airway health, dental development, communication, sleep, and overall wellness. The goal of the evaluation is to identify underlying functional patterns and determine whether targeted myofunctional therapy and habit training may help support healthier function, development, and long-term well-being .
We will call to set-up date/time for evaluation.
